Calopteryx splendens. (Harris, 1782). Banded Demoiselle.

This is one of the largest damselflies found throughout Europe and the far east.

With its variety of colours and wing patterns, the male has a mostly blue abdomen, where

the female is green. Both sexes have brown eyes and a very pale pterostigma.
