Ophrys umbilicata ssp. bucephala

An initial endemic of Lesvos, now found in Chios and Turkey.

A short and robust plant, with whitish-green sepals, the laterals leaning forward

with the dorsal bent over. Distinguished by its relatively large flowers

and its almost globular mediant lobe.
