This is an Eurasian, semi-aquatic non-venomous snake and is the                              longest snake in the U.K. Sub-species Natrix natrix persa extends                           throughout the Balkans and into mainland Greece where the photos were taken.             Variable in colour, but typically olive-green with a yellow to cream                        underside. Females often longer in length around 70cms.
