Libellula fulva.  (Muller. 1764).  Blue Chaser.

Found throughout Europe this species prefers slow-moving rivers

and is locally common. Important features are the black face with blue-grey eyes,

dark or yellow hindwing base, dark wing tips and the blue to black abdomen

tip in the mature male. The female remains an orange-yellow abdomen.
