Montpelier Snake. Malpolon monspessulanus.

                     This is a mildly venemous, rear-fanged snake. Sub species                                              M.m.fuscus is found in south eastern Europe and Turkey.                                         It may grow towards three metres and is active during the day                            and feeds mainly on lizards and is common species throughout its range.                           Its light coloured head becomes alternative bands of light brown,                             a series of black dots with lower chevrons on cream.
