Anacamptis papilionacea var. heroica.

A short and robust plant with a dense inflorescence, found mostly in the

eastern Aegean. The heart shaped lip is light coloured to dark red, with deep magenta

streaks and spots. A species with many intermediates which have attracted

much attention with several vars being established.
