Anacamptis papilionacea ssp. alibertis.

Named after the contemporary Cretan botanist A. Alibertis, this subspecies

has received confirmation by Delforge and Petrou. A tall slender plant, with a short

inflorescence and few flowers. Further splitting of this species, however, may well

be presenting examples of a complex of transitional individuals.
