Orchis spitzelii

A rare species found between 1000 and 2100 metres. Important

features are the green petals with dorsal sepal forming a hood, with magenta spots

on the trilobed lip. The plants from Gotland, Sweden, are spindly,  rare and

                             were found at sea level compared to those from Mt Chelmos in the   

                                                                  Peloponnese, Greece.
