Sympetrum striolatum.  (Charpentier, 1840).  Common Darter.

Probably the most common darter found throughout Europe, north Africa, and well

into Asia. Both sexes have brown eyes, with the immature males initially yellow, then

orange red, whilst the thicker bodied females are yellow become dark brown with age.
